Friendly staff nice atmosphere great value for money

Great service and food, as always. Amazing value too. Fabulous location.

My wife and I (both long-term Club members) made a booking for the Queen Elizabeth Dining Room for ourselves and our two guests (also Club members but visiting London from their home in Aberdeen). 



Despite having made a booking, and arriving on time, we had to wait well over half an hour before any member of staff came to our table (and that was only  because I raised an objection in the Downstairs Bar). Staff were indeed there from time to time seemingly attending to various tasks in the room, but no-one came near us.

I had to go to the Downstairs Bar to ask if (as in the old days) we had to place our orders there for food and drink to be served upstairs. The young lady behind the bar was surprised and told me that no, she couldn't take our order, and that there should have been staff upstairs to attend to us. So I went back upstairs in search of any staff. 



By this time, there were two staff members in the Upstairs Bar, neither of whom had thought to come to our table with menus etc. I ordered what we wanted with some water for the table. As it happens we all ordered the same (4 Battered Cod & Chips - a Club favourite for us all - but we requested Fries rather than Chunky Chips). When the food arrived, guess what, chunky chips were on all four plates!!



We have to say that the food was excellent, (full marks to the kitchen team) but the Club management needs to look into the coordination between members making a booking and having staff available to take orders when they arrive at the Club.



The Queen Elizabeth Dining Room used to be a favourite of ours over the years, but is now looking very very tired (especially compared with the refurbishments undertaken downstairs).



Next time, we'll take our chances with the crowds and noise that there can be downstairs and book for the Bar Area.



We hope you can kindly look into these issues, and treat our comments as constructive criticism.

A straightforward booking reserved our table, and good food and drink was provided.

Great place, though the menu needs to be a bit more varied as they have the same menu and a couple of specials each day. Can recommend

Friends and I had a great time - thanks.

Having booked a table, I was surprised and annoyed when my friends & I were told to leave our table by the staff because “table reservations only last two hours” I’ve booked several times in the past and have never been told I should have “extended my booking”. This is not the right way to treat members!

Every time we come to the Civil Service Club everything is brilliant.

Despite a VERY noisy group in the bar this time (I have hearing problems, and this made communicating with the friend I was with for lunch difficult at times), the atmosphere was excellent; the CSC continues to be a safe, relaxed place, and well worth the membership fee.

Fantastic club with friendly staff, brilliant food a full bar with a wide range of beers, wines and spirits. All at great prices

The club seems to be moving in the right direction.  I think the app could be improved by making it easier to see upcoming events. I’m very pleased the wine tasting has been revived.

The lovely welcome starts at the reception when always you and your guests are greeted with a smile and warm welcome. The service and food at the bar and restaurant are fantastic and freshly made, very tasty and great value for money. Most recommend amenity in central London, if you are lucky enough to become a member.

I hosted  a function in the dining area of the main bar. My guests complimented me on the lovely food served up, a reflection on the the growing reputation for food served in CSC. My thanks to Dominika for her valuable and helpful advice on the menu, also to Jules who is always helpful. A mention for Evelina who helped me organise the tables on the night and to Jada for the bar and my tab. The staff in CSC are so helpful and  I have built a great working relationship with them.  Thanks Ladies and Simone who always chips in when necessary !
