Excellent Christmas Meal, ate in smaller dining room as there were large parties in the main room - we appreciated being placed there and had the room to ourselves. Attentive service.

Bar area was pretty busy but staff were quick to serve, although i was asked if my order was a long one - not sure why that mattered.  Only wanted 6 drinks.  No real Queuing system so have to keep an eye on who is next or pushing in

Very much prefer being able to reserve a table in the bar. It can be a struggle getting a table at busy times without pre-booking.

I brought four friends to the club specifically to have Xmas lunch, only to be told that we could only have it in the upstairs dining room. When I tried to book a table at the reception desk, I was (rather brusquely) told I could not do so as the whole area was booked for a private function and there was no flexibility to serve this elsewhere. The only justification given was "It's always been like that". Not only is this an inadequate reason but it is also untrue as, when the club first reopened after lockdown, I had Xmas lunch while sitting outside. I note that, since the incident, all the Xmas menus have been removed from the bar to avoid misleading customers into believing that they are readily available but this is poor service and places your (wonderful) bar staff in a position where they are forced to defend a policy not of their making. If you are going to stick with a policy of "it's always been like that" over giving members what they actually want at least manage expectations rather than trumpeting your Xmas menu for months beforehand.

The Civil Service Club has a good reputation for quality and value for money. On this occasioin they excelled themselves and even coped with some difficult capacity problems with efficiency and calmness

We had another great visit to the CSC on Sunday.  Receptionist is welcoming and the staff were curtious.  The CSC is a great place to bump into people that you have seen in a long time and is in a great location.  



The only comments I have are: the food took longer to arrive than usual, the prices have increased considerably on food and the chicken curry I had on Sunday lacked flavour and tasted almost more like a stew and was disappointing.

It was an excellent service and good price, my son was certainly impressed. He arrived before me and had ordered a cup of tea whilst he was waiting. I will be back again soon.

Go here all the time.  Great to have somewhere int he west end where we can get a seat, a good meal and a pint or three. Highly recommended.

The tables were very well decorated for Christmas giving festive feeling to the whole room.

All our food was well presented and hot with a good choice of wine.
