It's great place any time of day from lunch to evening supper -their Sunday roasts being my favourite (real value for money).



I also enjoy dropping in for an after-work drink, when I can. The place has a long history too.



Eventually, I got round to buying their book on the history of the club, fascinating.



Who knew that when Princess Elizabeth (our late queen) married Lieutenant Mountbatten in 1947 the balance of the Wedding Fund collected by the Civil Service was gifted to the Civil Service Club by command of the princess. That balance in today's money was over £700,000.



I truly enjoy popping into the club from time to time!
