Great visit as usual

I had a fantastic evening with great atmosphere

My friend and I booked a table in the restaurant for lunch on 23/2 and although we both enjoyed our steaks, the light bites that we had as starters were very overdone. 

Our main course was very good and great value.

However, the desolate and empty restaurant on 1st floor is truly dreadful and depressing now. Whilst I appreciate that staffing is difficult and expensive, the current set up for the restaurant is a waste of a wonderful asset. It was like eating in a deserted building and other than the ridiculously loud music blaring from a laptop, we would have assumed that it was not in operation when we walked into the room. It was bare and unloved.

Please re-think this and bring it back to the delightful restaurant that it was before.

The reserved table was correct, the service was excellent and our table enjoyed the food. We'll done.

I came with a group, who were all very impressed. They especially liked that we could sit together and chat.

As ever, a most enjoyable night spent at the CS Club. An update to the bar area would make it full marks all round. It’s a little soulless and looking in need of refurbishment. .

Excellent service, good food, good value for money.

Very busy and glad we booked in advance. Our party included one vegetarian and two vegans and we were all well catered for. Thank you.

As always, a really enjoyable experience  The dining room was available, so we chose to eat there for a leisurely unch in quieter surroundings  Impeccable, friendly service, delicious lamb shanks,and my chocoholic friend particularly enjoyed the chocolate brownie.  For the first time we tried the Malbec Reserve which was superb and a great accompayment to the food. ( In sum were happy as a couple of pigs in muck) Thank you to all the staf who who worked very hard to make tihs happen..  .

Excellent value plenty of food

Good food, drinks and service at reasonable prices. I do find the bar area pretty busy at lunch times though and the tables for two can make dining pretty tight.

A lively and informal  atmosphere.  Although the club was busy, our meals and drinks arrived quickly and were  excellent value for money.  All the staff were friendly and courteous.  My guests and I were all agreed we would be back before too long.

I attended the Club on Friday Lunchtime as usual. As it was Burns Night that week there was a 'special' on the menu in the form of Venison Haunch with Haggis and Mashed Potato. Although the quality of the food has been consistently good in recent years, I was pleasantly surprised by just how tremendous this dish tasted. I have no (known) Scottish ancestry, but I wish it could be Burns Night every week!

Food menu never varies. A new menu from time to time would be welcome. Very good value though.
